Polar Performance deliver inspiring keynote presentations and training workshops for businesses and events in the UK and abroad.

We aim to inspire more than impress and we tell our story, as a pair or individually, with honesty, humour and humility. We have analysed our Ice Maiden team to work out why a group of strangers with no previous cold-weather experience became a record-breaking, high performance team. Each lesson learned on the ice can be applied to a corporate environment, and we emphasise the following themes within the context of life on the coldest, highest and most inhospitable continent on Earth:

  • How to create high performance teams

  • Psychological safety

  • Imposter syndrome and self belief

  • Resilience

  • Dynamic leadership

  • Mission focus

  • Confidence and conquering fears

  • Dealing with conflict

We also offer training workshops that drill deeper into the themes discussed during our presentations. Incorporating current research with Sophie’s 10 years’ corporate experience and Sandy’s 14 years’ military experience, we want delegates to walk away with a toolbox that they can use in their own working environment. Workshop and discussion themes include:

  • Resilience and receiving feedback

  • Imposter Syndrome and confidence

  • Psychological safety and high performance teams

If you have a particular theme in mind, we are happy to create bespoke workshops and training days tailored to your requirements.

We have spoken at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, MasterCard, Lloyds Bank, JP Morgan, Royal College of Surgeons, Febelfin Conference in Brussels, AECOM, Arup, Trowers & Hamlins and The Institute of Directors, to name a few. See testimonials from our clients.

Not all of us are able to cross Antarctica, but we all engage in projects that require planning and preparation, and an understanding of our team’s strengths and weaknesses. Their talk focused on the role teamwork plays in achieving your objective and this was a language we all understood.

We are passionate about inspiring young people to set themselves a challenge and have the determination to see it through. We offer a corporate speaking package that covers our speakers' fee for the main company event, but also funds our visit to a school of your choice where we will deliver a presentation or workshop*.

Your company's branding will be included in all publicity and social media arising from the visit.

*Sandy and Sophie are both DBS certified.

The points they made were very relevant to our business, and an opportunity for colleagues to take something personal away from the talk. The format was tailored to the different audiences, and they delivered one style presentation to the school children and another to the corporate environment.
